Burried Hugo

HUGO

Hugo is a 43 cm long (17 in) and 7-year-old leopard pleco, who just loves boiled zucchini. New big block of wood seems to be constant point of insterest for Hugo. This catfish is quite a hoover: it eats very efficiently all the scraps of food oscars leave behind.

Hornet roikkuu

HORNET

Hornet was a 39 cm long (15 in) sailfin catfish, who was a genuine catfish granpa. Exact information regarding Hornet's age was not resolved, because Hornet was a "second hand" fish bought in summer 1993. Hornet was then already a grown-up and at least 2-3 years old. He was very active although his age was like 100 years converted to human's age. Hornet passed away in May 2001. We burried our faitful catfish granpa under a rose setting in our garden.

Best friends

BUDDIES

Here Hornet and Hugo lies comfortably nose to nose, but it wasn't always like this. Years back when Hugo was a lot smaller than Hornet, Hornet chased Hugo very often - especially when it was feeding time. Then the parts were reversed around 1997. Hugo grew up and became actually a bit bigger than Hornet. During the last two-three years the catfishes calmed down (they became old?) and they were often found lying right next each other. Nowdays Hugo is the only catfish in our tank.

Double catfish

-What's the difference between a lawyer and a catfish?
-One is a slimy, bottom dwelling, scum sucker. The other is a fish.
